I had a fantastic experience with Apex Plumbing service. From the moment I called, they were responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with. The plumber arrived right on time, quickly diagnosed the issue, and explained everything clearly before getting started. It was determined that the root cause of the problem was a sewer backflow pipe issue, which falls under the responsibility of the HOA. Unfortunately, this led to sewage backing up into my garage and causing damage. The plumber handled the situation efficiently and with great attention to detail. They not only addressed the immediate issue but also ensured everything was clean and in proper working order before leaving. It’s clear they take pride in their work and genuinely care about customer satisfaction. While additional repairs such as drywall replacement, sanitation, and mold treatment are still needed, those are the responsibility of the HOA to address. I really appreciated their honesty and fair pricing—no surprises or unnecessary upselling. It’s such a relief to find a reliable plumber you can trust. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of quality plumbing services!
Water Heater Repair & Installation
No hot water is the call we get most. We repair what can be repaired, replace what can't, and give you a straight answer on which one makes sense.

- Lukewarm or no hot water, or the hot water runs out fast
- Rumbling, popping or banging sounds from the tank
- Water pooling under the heater, or rust-colored hot water
Repair or replace?
A tank water heater typically lasts 8–12 years. If yours is younger than that and the problem is a thermocouple, heating element, gas valve or thermostat, a repair is usually the right call. If the tank itself is leaking, rusting or past its service life, replacement is the only safe option — and we'll show you why rather than just telling you.
Installation done to code
Northern California water heater installs have specific requirements: seismic strapping, a proper T&P discharge line, drip pan and drain where required, correct venting, and a sediment trap on the gas line. We handle the permit when one is required and install to current code so your home stays safe and insurable.
Brands and options
We install and service standard tank heaters (40 and 50 gallon gas and electric), high-efficiency models, and tankless units from Navien, Rinnai and Rheem. Not sure what fits your household? We'll size it based on bathrooms, fixtures and how your family uses hot water.
What's included
- Same-day repairs & replacements
- Gas, electric & tankless
- Seismic strapping & code compliance
- Leaking tank replacement
- Thermocouple, element & valve repairs
- Old unit haul-away
Questions about water heaters
How long does a water heater replacement take?
Most standard tank replacements take 2–3 hours. Tankless conversions take longer because of venting and gas line work, usually most of a day.
Should I switch to tankless?
If you want endless hot water, lower energy bills and a unit that lasts 20+ years, tankless is a strong option. It costs more up front and needs adequate gas supply. We'll give you an honest comparison for your house.

Highly recommend! Nick did a really nice job and for the best price out of four quotes. Will be calling Apex first for my next plumbing project.
Nick and his team were just top notch. We had another national plumbing company quoted us $7K to fix a sub-pump issue, and Nick figured it out in like half an hour, no charge. I’m not kidding. He didn’t even accept a tip— said we should just use APEX again in the future if something needed fixing. Thank you Nick!
Apex plumbing is top notch. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs you have. I had an issue with an exterior leak and Nick was able to meet me on time and diagnose and fix the issue. Call Nick he will take care of you.
Highly Recommend! We had an outstanding experience with this plumbing company! Nick, the owner, came out to switch a toilet for us and was everything you hope for in a local professional—punctual, friendly, and very fair priced. He took the time to explain exactly why our old toilet wasn’t working properly and even offered helpful suggestions on a few DIY projects my not-so-handy spouse has going on. Nick was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge, and energy. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond simply because they care about doing things right. We’ll absolutely be calling him for any future plumbing needs and recommending him to friends and neighbors. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable plumber, look no further!
Not only did they send someone out right away but the 2 plumbers they sent out went out of their way to assess and take care of our problem, which happened to be a fork stuck in our washing machine drain. Boy did we have a good laugh about that. I would definitely call them again for any future plumbing issues and highly recommend their company.
