Service & scheduling

Do you really offer 24/7 emergency plumbing?

Yes. Apex Plumbing answers calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. For emergencies like burst pipes, sewer backups and water heater leaks, call (925) 226-8543 any time.

What areas do you serve?

All of Contra Costa County and nearby communities: Martinez, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Alamo, Danville, San Ramon, Clayton, Pinole, Hercules, Richmond, El Cerrito and Berkeley. See our service areas page.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Apex Plumbing holds California Plumbing Contractor License C-36 #1115087 and carries insurance. You can verify our license on the CSLB website.

Do you give prices before starting work?

Always. After we diagnose the problem you get a clear price for the repair, and we don't start until you approve it. No hourly surprises.

Water heaters

How do I know if my water heater needs repair or replacement?

Lukewarm water, rumbling noises, rust-colored water or water around the base are warning signs. Tanks under 8 years old are often repairable; tanks that are leaking or over 10–12 years old are usually better replaced. We'll show you what we find and let you decide.

Is a tankless water heater worth it?

For most families, yes: endless hot water, lower energy use and a 20+ year lifespan. The upfront cost is higher and your gas line may need upsizing. We give you an honest comparison for your home.

How long does a water heater replacement take?

A standard tank replacement takes about 2–3 hours. A tankless conversion usually takes most of a day.

Drains & sewers

What's the difference between snaking and hydro jetting?

A cable (snake) punches a hole through the clog. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to clean the entire inside of the pipe, removing grease, scale and roots. For recurring clogs, jetting is the long-term fix.

Should I use chemical drain cleaner?

We recommend against it. It rarely clears a real clog and it damages pipes, seals and the environment.

Do you do sewer camera inspections?

Yes. We run a camera through your sewer line and show you the video. It's the best way to diagnose recurring backups and a smart step before buying a home.

Leaks & gas

How do I know if I have a hidden leak?

A rising water bill, a water meter that moves when everything is off, warm spots on the floor, damp walls or a musty smell. We locate leaks electronically so we open only a small area to repair.

I smell gas. What should I do?

Leave the building, don't flip switches, and call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 from outside. Then call us to locate and repair the leak and test the line before it's used again.
